This project faced two major obstacles:

Decromastic tiles require specialist knowledge. Over the home's history, improper foot traffic (stepping in the tile's middle) had created widespread bends and bumps.

Our Meticulous Restoration Process
To correctly and permanently restore this roof, our Rotorua team executed a highly detailed, multi-step process.
- 1. Preparation and Repair
First, we thoroughly waterblasted the roof. We then repaired every bent tile, which revealed numerous hidden cracks and holes. All of these were sealed using a high-grade modified silicone and charcoal patching system to ensure a permanent, waterproof bond.
Stage 3: Repair and sealing work rebuilt tile integrity before coating.
Stage 4: Rust was mechanically treated and sealed for long-term durability.

2. Intensive Rust Treatment
We mechanically ground every visible rust spot and confirmed the corrosion was still at surface level, with no structural failure.
Next, we applied a premium rust converter to treated areas and followed with specialist etch primer on all bare metal.

3. Restoring the Texture and Finish
The heavy preparation stage stripped back much of the original stone-chip profile.
We reapplied fresh stone-chip coating to rebuild texture, then sealed the full roof with a high-build base coat to lock repairs into the existing surface.
Finally, we applied two coats of premium roof paint in the popular colour "Ironsand."
Stage 5: Stone-chip texture and base coats rebuilt a consistent roof profile.
Stage 6: Completed Ironsand finish delivered a leak-free, sale-ready result.
